The perfect night out in Macau

By  |

Actually parties are never on top of our travel agendas. Going out is fun for sure, but after a long party night the next day is usually wasted. But being in Macau, the sparkling nightlife is an absolute must on your travel bucket list.

I’d like to present you my plan for a perfect night out in Macau. There are countless possibilities, so here is my brief guide of what to do where.

1. Dining

A night out should always start with a good Dinner. Macau is a true paradise for foodies and offers all tastes for all kinds of budgets. But there will be a more detailed article about that soon.

For dining in a group I really recommend going to a Chinese or Portuguese restaurant. You will find countless of these in Macau. Ordering several small dishes and sharing them with your friends is a fun way to experience different tastes. The renowned hotels usually have several great restaurants of different cuisines. Chose one of them and you have a casino right around the corner.

2.Gambling in a Casino

Which leads us to the next point of the night agenda: Gambling in one of the many many casinos! The Casinos are the main reason for the mostly Chinese tourists to visit Macau. This is why you will find so many huge casinos. Gambling is not that important to us anyway, but walking through these glamorous casinos and having a little game was awesome. My favorites where the exclusive casinos of the hotels Wynn, MGM and Venetian.

3. Having Drinks in a Rooftop Bar

The best way to have some drinks in Macau is going to a rooftop bar, because you can enjoy Macaus sparkling skyline from up there.

The most well-known rooftop bars are the Sky 21 and the 38 Lounge. The Sky 21 bar is located in the AIA tower on the peninsular and offers a fantastic view from the Grand Lisboa on the left to the Macau tower on the right. Well, the cocktails aren’t any special, but the relaxed atmosphere, the modern design and the feeling to sit outside in a warm summer breeze were great.

4. Clubbing

After a few cocktails you should be motivated to dance a little bit afterwards. The Club Cubic in City of Dreams is the most popular and exclusive night club in Macau. The Cubic is a sophisticated stylish club with great drinks and is located on the Cotai Strip.

Unfortunately you won’t be able to sit if you did not book a table in advance. Women wearing high heels a whole night will know what I mean… You can get a table for the minimum order of two bottles of champagne at a price around 350 EUR. My advice: wear flat shoes or get yourself some champagne! From time to time the Cubic even has famous music acts like Neyo or Ludacris, so be sure to check their event calendar not to miss a highlight.

Being in Macau we learned that there are only a few night clubs. The focus of the asian tourists lies clearly in gambling, which is why the offer of nightclubs is limited.

5. Further things to do

A very special highlight is the famous show named House of Dancing Waters in City of Dreams, which is highly recommended. Another thing worth seeing is the performance lake in front of the Wynn Hotel which reminded us of the fountains of the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Even if it is way smaller in Macau, you should not miss this colorful water show!
