Relaxing at the Intercontinental Jimbaran, Bali

By  |

After our action weekend with volcano climbing and rafting, we definitely needed some time for relaxing. Ok, so let’s take a luxurious hotel which is not too far away from our villa, directly at the beach and with a marvelous range of fine food. The Intercontinental Resort in Jimbaran fits perfectly! I already showed you some first impressions in this outfit post, but now I want to show and tell you more about this great hotel.

We had a nice room in the Intercontinental Club Area. The room is quite big and offers everything you need, even an espresso machine and an exclusive tee collection.
We watched the football game Germany (yeahhhhh) vs. Brazil on that flatscreen and this was actually the first time that we ever used a hotel room TV :-) .

The bathroom is very nice and equipped with all amenities, like shampoo, cotton pads, tooth brushes, Listerine, shaver and so on. This might sound strange, but we felt in love with the shampoo because it smells like the Haribo Cola Bottles sweets 😉 – amazing!

One more highlight is the pillow menu. Next to your bed is a menu with several kinds of pillows and you can choose the perfect one for your comfort sleep.

When you book such a Club Room, you can use all the Club amenities in the resort. Like the Club Lounge, where you can have a gourmet breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails with canapés. Every day and already included in your Club Booking. We love love love such Club services, because we already enjoyed this last year in our Singapore Hotel.

Eat & Drink

And now off to my favorite category: FOOD! When you booked the Club package you can enjoy culinary highlights during the whole day. The à la carte gourmet breakfast was awesome! You have to try the Bircher Müsli, the waffles and the French Toast – yummy!

Your afternoon tea comes with little treats, savory and sweet. We loved the large tea menu and found some new green tea lovelies.

In the evening you can sip cocktails and enjoy canapés. The inclusive Drinks (for Club guests) are also available at the beach bar. So we enjoyed our cocktail at the beach during sunset – awesome!

Regarding culinary experiences this is by far not all! The Intercontinental has two high class restaurants, a japanese restaurant and an italian fine dining restaurant, Bella Cucina. We had dinner in the japanese restaurant named Ko and enjoyed a super exciting Teppanyaki. Besides Sushi they offer this kind of show-cooking/acrobat dinner and I can really recommend it. My personal favorite were the Tiger Praws that come in a special mayonnaise – so yummy! You can also have sirloin, duck, chicken etc. as much as you want.

I caught a few impressions of this dining experience in this little video:

The Resort

The resort area is so huge! Included in your Club Booking is the use of the Club pool. As we arrived at the pool, the staff came immediately, arranged the sun beds and brought us some water – great service!
All around the resort you find these comfortable balinese bales, they are very popular with tourists.

The other and bigger hotel pool is very nice as well and surrounded by bars and restaurants. There are also a lot of sun beds along the beach, so you can relax with a view to the beach and sea.

The highlight, and USP, of the hotel are the diverse artworks, that underline the traditional balinese design of the resort. An indonesian architect designed the resort in the 1990’s and included balinese and hindu tradition elements. If you are interested in that, you should ask for a guided tour through the resort at the guest relation. It’s very interesting and a lot of our questions about balinese traditions became clear to us.

When you travel to Bali, you HAVE to experience some wellness! So we couldn’t say no to a one hour balinese massage in the Uluwatu SPA at the Intercontinental. You can choose between two SPA areas at the resort: One big main SPA and a separate SPA-Villa complex. We enjoyed our massage at the exclusive villa, which is so romantic and balinese looking. The massage was extraordinary good, because the moves of the therapists were more slowly and relaxing than we experienced before.

The staff was very professional and absolutely friendly. We never missed anything and were treated so so lovely.

In cooperation with Intercontinental Bali.
